01 OUR RESPONSE
UNTANGLING THE KNOTS OF TRAUMA.
Established in 2022 in response to rising social challenges, Ahu Collective Charitable Trust is a Wairarapa-based provider of transformative rehabilitation and prevention programmes for wāhine, tāne and taiohi.

SOCIAL PATHWAY
WHĀNAU
We deliver rehabilitation and prevention programmes through full-immersion wānanga, peer support, advocacy and weekly whānau engagement. Our work addresses the underlying drivers of family violence, methamphetamine-related harm, addiction and offending within our communities.
ENVIRONMENTAL PATHWAY
WHENUA
Established in 2025, our business arm creates successive pathways for whānau who have completed our programmes—supporting their transition into training, development and meaningful employment while contributing to the restoration of our whenua.

A transformative rehabilitation pathway delivered through full-immersion wānanga and ongoing support, helping whānau address core-root trauma, shift behavioural patterns and sustain meaningful change.

TIKANGA
A tikanga-based pathway reconnecting whānau with identity, whakapapa and responsibility, strengthening the knowledge and awareness needed to navigate change with purpose.
03 ECOSYSTEM
AHU COLLECTIVE
ECOSYSTEM.
Our interconnected ecosystem meets whānau where they are, linking each kaupapa to pathways of healing, identity, development, meaningful work and opportunity.
NGAHERE-O-TAIOHI
TAIOHI
A 26-week youth development pathway supporting taiohi aged 15–24 to strengthen identity, purpose and belonging, build resilience and capability, and move confidently toward education, training or meaningful employment.
ADEPT PRACTITIONERS TRAINING
DEVELOPMENT
A four-day full-immersion training inviting practitioners and community kaimahi to nurture themselves, deepen their professional practice, and immerse in Ahu Collective’s unique teachings, frameworks and modalities.
ENVIRONMENTAL
TAIAO
An environmental development pathway creating practical training, meaningful employment and long-term opportunities for whānau through restoration, planting and civil works across Wairarapa.

Since 2023, our kaupapa has delivered measurable social, environmental and economic impact. Programme reporting, whānau feedback and our partnerships across Police, Courts and Community Probation reflect meaningful reductions in harm and stronger pathways forward.
SOCIETAL IMPACT

REOFFENDING
Significant reductions in reoffending, alongside stronger engagement and completion of court-mandated obligations.

METHAMPHETAMINE HARM
Noticeable decreases in methamphetamine use and related harm, particularly among whānau previously identified as high risk.

FAMILY VIOLENCE
Reduced instances of family violence, with safer home environments and stronger relationships across whānau.

RECOVERY & WELLBEING
Improved emotional regulation, wellbeing and sustained recovery for whānau navigating mental distress and addiction.

EMPLOYMENT PATHWAYS
Whānau who have completed our youth development or rehabilitation programmes are progressing into training, development and meaningful employment—building capability, stability and long-term opportunity.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
Through regional council and consultancy contracts, Ahu Collective Environmental continues to strengthen its workforce, build specialist capability and contribute to the restoration of whenua across Wairarapa.
